This gorgeous sweetie is called Freddie

He is 10 plus years young and has been living as a stray for god knows how long http://www.chaptanservices.com/purrs/Smileys/purrs%20smilies/cry.gif
http://www.chaptanservices.com/purrs/Smileys/purrs%20smilies/cry.gif
A lady has been trying to catch him for months and thank god, she finally got him. He is in really poor condition, was running a temp, full of cat flu, full of fleas and has terrible broken and cracked teeth http://www.chaptanservices.com/purrs/Smileys/purrs%20smilies/cry.gif
The good news is he's eating well, is now on antibiotics, has been flead and wormed and will be going in for a dental as soon as he's up to it. He was a little grump when I first picked him up but within a day he is just http://www.chaptanservices.com/purrs/Smileys/purrs%20smilies/luv.gif

He's already feeling better in himself, is eating brilliantly and has started to take a pride in his appearance god love him. As soon as he's okay and had his teeth sorted etc etc, he will be looking for a home, he is such a babe and I'm sooooo pleased the lady caught him, I doubt he would have survived the winter in the condition he is in http://www.chaptanservices.com/purrs/Smileys/purrs%20smilies/cry.gif

Update on Freddie from Dawn.

I've had to take poor Freddie back to see Uncle Sean this morning. He's been eating well and he seems a lot better in himself but last night he had loads of green gunge oozing from his mouth http://www.chaptanservices.com/purrs/Smileys/purrs%20smilies/sick.gif http://www.chaptanservices.com/purrs/Smileys/purrs%20smilies/sick.gif His mouth is so infected bless him so he's had a jab and he's back on antibiotics and is now booked in on Friday to have his teeth done. Sean said there's a good chance all will have to be removed but if any are viable, then he will leave them. Poor little man, I hope he'll be okay http://www.chaptanservices.com/purrs/Smileys/purrs%20smilies/cry.gif

Oh I do hope this little chap is OK and that he can find a home. I know from experience that the strays are often the most loving, grateful and gentle kitties - genuine companions. Freddie's face shows that he has had a hard life - he deserves a warm lap to call his own. Elaine, I can see how you were so touched by his story.

Someone I once knew adopted a CRF cat that had to have all his teeth removed. He managed just fine, looked a little like an old man without his dentures but still got through all his food very well.

I'll give Dawn a call later for an update but I think it's this friday that he'll be in the vets. I'll ask for some updated piccies, if she can find time to do them.

Charlie, how much do you love this sweet old fella? Enough to foster/adopt maybe?;)

In some respects I am glad Dawn and I live so far apart but in others i wish i lived closer so i could help her more.
Fraddie and Lucas, I just love them both.

Dawns update on Freddie.

The gorgeous Freddie is home and fine http://www.chaptanservices.com/purrs/Smileys/purrs%20smilies/luv.gif http://www.chaptanservices.com/purrs/Smileys/purrs%20smilies/luv.gif He is now toothless but was very, very happy to see me bless him http://www.chaptanservices.com/purrs/Smileys/purrs%20smilies/luv.gif He was purring like a little trooper, tankling on his bed in the vets and rolling over........I think he may have been stoned on the painkillers http://www.chaptanservices.com/purrs/Smileys/purrs%20smilies/evillaugh.gif http://www.chaptanservices.com/purrs/Smileys/purrs%20smilies/evillaugh.gif Anyway, his bloods are fine, he's had an FIV sent off and he's polished off a full tin of a/d since coming home http://www.chaptanservices.com/purrs/Smileys/purrs%20smilies/smile.gif http://www.chaptanservices.com/purrs/Smileys/purrs%20smilies/smile.gif

Freddie wasn't too happy last night and didn't eat anything til early hours. He's got a lot of gunge coming from his mouth this morning so he'll be going back to the vets later for them to check him. He did end up eating a full tin of a/d but I think he's now in some pain http://www.chaptanservices.com/purrs/Smileys/purrs%20smilies/cry.gif http://www.chaptanservices.com/purrs/Smileys/purrs%20smilies/cry.gif

On the phone to Dawn right now, she has just come back from the vet with Freddie. He has had an antibiotic injection and has more antirobe too. The vet said that this is to be expected as his teeth and gum were in such a bad state but once his gums have healed, he should be just fine.

Update from Dawn.

I forgot to say, his FIV results were in today and he's Negative http://www.chaptanservices.com/purrs/Smileys/purrs%20smilies/112.gif I'm so pleased as it's one less thing to worry about and generally his health is pretty good or it will be once he gets over his flu and his gums have healed.
