We are suffering fleas :( I think Misty must of brought them back with her from the Vets.

Do any of you use Online Medicine Sites to get items like Frontline etc... cheaper? a friend mentioned Vet UK Limited, I registered, but do not know if this is the best one.

This is the first time we have had fleas :( poor little babies.

Erin is correct the flea cycle lasts all year round due to our homes being warmer.

Cassie, being an outdoor cat, is treated 4 times a year ...

I get her flea treatment and worming tablets from here .... http://www.vetuk.co.uk/

Thank you all :)

I have just ordered from the same one as you Mags, so being they are outdoor cats apart from Jac, does this mean I need only do it 4 times also? x

Once you have got it under control 4 times a year should be sufficient Sweet.

Unfortunately if one cat has brought the fleas into the house it is more than likely that the other cats have been infested too, so it is advisable that they be treated as well .... including the one who is an indoor cat. Also check their bedding etc as they would probably have laid their eggs there.

Can cats get rat fleas? I saw one last night when I was fleacombing Leia; she never goes out so I'm wondering if it could have been from that rat she killed last week?

I would imagine that it is highly likely that the rat had fleas Eileen ........ whether they are the same type of flea I just don't know.

Maybe one of the rat owners on here could answer that better.... :?

Mags, what stuff do you use to treat four times a year? I have been using Frontline and that is every six weeks which works out a lot more than four times a year and Misty hates being rounded up for the flea treatment!!

I use the Frontline Spot On, Donna ......... I know it says you can use it more frequently but I keep to four times a year unless I see a flea on her.
