Pippin is 13 years old with a heart condition and murmers and such like. He was diagnosed at the age of 7 and has been expected to pop his clogs at any time since then. I am terrified he does so this week as I am looking after him. He's a huge, scruffy old thing who purrs constantly, even while chomping down on my fingers when trying to pill him:shock:  He may be getting on in years but he has all his bloody teeth, my thumb has all the marks to prove it:-D
He's absolutely gorgous though.

Hi Pippin. My B-I-L had a border terrier that was supposed to die very young, she did die.... when she was very old. :-D

And a friend looked after a puppy with a condition called "ectopic ureter" however she aslo had kidney problems & wouldn't make it to her first birthday, my friend wanted to give her the best year possible & kept her ............... until she died .... aged 15! :-D

Oh what a sweet old thing. He does look a bit tatty but to be honest, they tend to be the lovliest (despite the teeth) :D .

I am going to take a brush with me tomorrow and see if he'll allow me to groom him for a bit as he is quite matted.
I think he's a smasher even if he did chomp down on my thumb;)

That will be interesting. Bet he's never had the like before. Plus he'll look like a new cat. I'm sure his owners will be impressed.

Was going to give him a catnip mouse but am a bit worried that it may get him all fired up and he has a heart attack:?
So we spent an hour grooming and he attacked me:shock:  Not a bad attack just one of those getting off on the grooming attacks.
Will try the furminator tomorrow.;)

He really is quite badly matted. I never realised that short hairs could get so matted. His ears are also quite scabbed and tatty, I'm wondering if he has skin cancer on them. He has been taking his tablets very well, no more thumb chomping bless him.

White cats are prone to skin cancer on their ears, as I'm sure you know. Does he see his vet regularly; his people might want to have them looked at...... he's a feisty little fellow, isn't he?

He does get checked regularly coz of his heart. I may well be wrong about the cancer thing but will talk with his mum when she gets back.
And oh yes there is definately life in the old boy yet:D

I'm a wee bit paranoid about skin cancer, having had a bout with it myself...better safe than sorry!

I can understand that Eileen, I'd be the same. Couldnt have been a very pleasant experience.
I will talk it over with his owner though coz it is a cause for concern especially given his colouring and age.
