Taking more of an interest in photos and now that I have mastered a few more buttons on my camera, thought I would show you this picture of my daughter, Emma.

I really like it, but what do you all think?

I think its lovely! I edited it slightly to take away the distraction of the background, added a little contrast too. Just me though, I think you captured her beautifully, well done.
Dawn.

Donna - that is a brilliant picture, Emma is very photogenic and looks like some mysterious 1940s film starlet in your picture.

I too would be tempted to frame that, or maybe get it blown up onto a box canvas and hang it on your wall . . . coz it's excellent (And Dawn did some rather good editing there just to finish it off).

If you do want to frame it, personally I think it would ace on a canvas too, a bit more editing might be a good idea, like this perhaps, taking out all the extra bits. Just a suggestion and you would need the original BIG file too. Its lovely Donna, you should be chuffed with it!

So can anyone tell me how I can get a digital picture made into a framed picture? And can I use the one you edited Dawn to get it done?

You need a high resolution (or as high as possible) picture. The more MB the image the larger it can go when printed - you can alter the settings on your camera to achieve this. Once you have this, put it on a disk or memory stick and take it down to one of the photo places on your High Street and they do the rest!

Sorry, am a bit thick!!

How can I use the original big picture when it is now better edited?? Is the edited picture any good if I right click it and save and then put it onto a card?

What is the file size Donna? You should be able to right click on it, go to properties and gauge file size from there.

The edited pic that Dawn did is 445 x 333 in this thread. I have saved this to my pc and it says 75.8kb.

Hmmm. That's quite small, suitable for screen/web viewing only. You probably need an image around 1.5 to 2 MB at the very least to successfully reproduce it for print. When we produce brochures etc at work, sometimes the images can come to about 40 MB for an A4 size, now that's probably bigger than you need but I think you need a larger file than the one you have.
