My mother loved him singing (she used to sing opera) I hated it really did, till one day, I just listened, what an amazing voice, a HUGE loss.

His rendition of "Nessun Dorma" for the 1990 World Cup changed many peoples' views on opera ....it never fails to bring a lump to my throat..:(

My OH and I are opera singers and we are so gutted at this news. :( An amazing voice; it had a quality that none of the others had. A sad day for all his fans. Thankfully his legacy is all the wonderful music he has recorded.
