I subscribe to a cat newsletter issued by Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine, and thought you all might be interested in this. They had an article rating grooming tools, and this is what they said:

One of the most effective hair removal products, the FURminator De-shedding Tool for Cats uses a patented blade that clears out dead undercoat and loose hair while leaving the topcoat alone. It removes an unbelievable amount of loose fur and earned five paws*. Even some of the test cats who don't like being groomed tolerated this product. Because the tool's teeth are so short, it doesn't risk scratching sensitive feline skin. Use this hair removing tool in an area easy to clean up because you will be surprised at the amount of excess hair it can remove off a cat.

*five paws is the highest rating!

Well deserved 5 paws too.;) ....I used it on Mollie, although she is short haired, she has quite a fluffy coat that constantly sheds, bathed her yesterday usually the plug hole is blocked with hair, none at all this time, so the FURminator is a real hit in this house..:D

I'm in the States! Although it might promote sales here too! I'd never heard of this product before I read about it here, but was so impressed at what everyone said that I ordered one, and love it! Definitely 5 stars in my opinion!

Thats why they should know how many people have bought on Catsey through one recommendation, then they may give that person a little something for doing that... may want to use the advertising...'These cat owneres on a cat forum think blah blah'

I think the FURminator is excellent, I hardly ever see many cat hairs in the furniture now. It definitely deserves the 5 paw rating from me!!

If the FURminator company knew how we have given their product a good testing and how much advertising we have given it..... maybe they could be persuaded to advertise on Catsey!

Thanks for sharing that with us Eileen!

Oh, sorry, BC.. I misinterpreted what you said to mean that the article in Tufts would persuade people here to buy it...which it very probably might!! Sorry to be so dense........

Don't worry DM, I thought it would just be good publicity for them to know even about the competitions that have been running, and that word of mouth has promoted their sales. I too will be purchasing one (only so DEnis can be as glossy as Leia) also to be able to sit on the couch without getting covered in hairs!!!!
