Well after a long wait. Fairy has finally decided to part with her babies.

Baby number 1 put in an appearance at 2.30 today weighing 115g, Baby number 2 showed up around 4pm weighing 118g and baby number 3 sneaked out around 6.30 weighing an impressive 130g.

There still feels to be another kitten in there so am keeping a close eye on her to see what develops in the next few hours or so.

Here are a couple of pics. Sorry they arent very good but will update them when she is a little more settled

Awww, mum looks tired in that first pic after her long labor! Hope the kittens are thriving; let us know if there's a fourth!

Thanks everyone they are so gorgeous.

i can't stop looking at them. Fairy seems so laid back with motherhood and is constantly washing them and purring at them she loves them to bits.

She has had a lovely tea of salmon tonight and a good long stroke. Didn't want to cuddle her as she is probably still a little tender. Now she is settling down for a nice long sleep which is where I am going shortly

Congratulatios Sarah. (and fairy of course) She looks done in!
So was the final count 3 or 4?
Glad she's got into the swing of it nice and easy. You can put your feet up and watch the babies:lol:

The final count is 3.

However Fairy has now decided she won't let them feed :(. Everytime they latch on she stands up and moves.

Fed them by hand today on advice of my breeding mentor and they seem much more settled now with full tummies. Will keep giving a helping hand until Fairy gets the knack of letting them feed and then its back over to her.

Awwww - well done Fairy and Sarah! They are lovely - what a proud mummy!!

What colours are you expecting from this mating?

Be careful of jumping in to hand feed too soon - I think Kay has posted about it before in the breeder section.

Keep us posted :)

Hi Charlie
The proposed colours from this mating are:

Red, Cream, Seal and Blue males as dad is seal and carries blue and mum is Blue tortie bi colour

And seal and blue colourpoints and blue and seal tortie girls.

Two of them have really pink noses so i am thinking they may be bi colours but it is still early to tell.

I've taken the advice of my vet and breeding mentor before I started to hand feed the kittens so there should be no problems with it i hope. But the kittens are more settled and mum is feeding them better because they are less squeaky. Fingers crossed we are sorted now

Here are some new pictures of the babies. They are much better and a lot clearer hope you like them. After double checking them it looks like Fairy has two little girls and a little boy. Unless of course the sex change fairy visits but they look very clear. Just have to bide my time now for the colours and patterns which we should know in a couple of weeks or so.

Well sadly we have had a set back. Fairy didnt develop her mammary tissue in order for her milk ducts to fill up and she has no milk :( Despite being given things to stimulate the milk flow it hasnt worked.

I have been hand feeding these little sweeties since yesterday every couple of hours. She does the poopy bums and cleaning aspect of things and i provide the food lol

Fingers crossed though its all heading in the right direction even though it is early and i dont want to tempt fate. The babies are feeding well. Two have the syringe and one prefers the bottle lol. They have gained weight. Not a vast amount but i suppose it would be different if they were constantly suckling from mum.

Roxie is due her babies today so i am hoping that once she is settled with her kitten she might be happy for me to pop the babies across every once in a while for a good feed to top them up and keep their strength up.

Please everyone send strong healing vibes for these babies to make it and pull through

Will keep you all posted.

Sarah sending strong healing vibes by the bucket load. Not the news I was expecting. I'm sorry.
Lets keep our fingers crossed that Roxi will feed them for her.
Good luck for today with Roxi.

Just had to share this photo of Fairy's little boy kitten all snuggled up with his adopted sister and mummy.
Sadly he refuses to feed off his mum or adopted mum and still waits to be hand fed with the bottle.
Not that I mind though as he is really cute when he is drinking as his little ears twitch backwards and forwards.

Here he is

Here are some updated pics of Fairy's babies.

As you can see her little girls have their eyes open and have started to get their colour and patterns. The little boy is still a tiny little tot but he is strong and feeding well from his bottle and gaining weight so i am trying not to worry too much. They were a week old on Tuesday.

http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o303/leedslassie6/kittens1.jpg
The two girls are the ones looking at the camera

The little boy is the one heading off the picture at the bottom. He is always on the go.

Hope you enjoy them

Looks like you've got your work cut out with Houdini the little escape artist there :)
They all look like theyare healthy and getting stronger by the day.
All the best with them. Karen

It is Kazz

We ended up having to turn the divider upside down so Fairy has to jump in through the top of the divider instead of walking through the hole at the bottom.

He kept wandering out into the rest of the kittening pen and carrying on alarmingly. Mind you he does sit at the window section and cry when he is ready for his feed bless him

Thanks everyone I am proud of them. Very proud in fact but trying to stay very detached also as I know they have to go to new homes when they are older. Its so tempting to keep them all but I can't so instead i will love them so much and give them lots of TLC for when they go to their new mummies and daddies

HI Jac
The little girl on the right of the picture nearest mum is a blue tortie if you look at her face you can make out speckles in her colouring. Thats the tortie pattern coming through. I think the other little girl is a colourpoint as i cant make out any tortie on her but the tortie can take up to 2 years to fully develop. The little boy has no colouring on him at all so he will either be a red or cream colourpoint but it could be weeks before we know which colour.

Will try and get some close ups of the babies and post them later.

Here are Fairy's babies now 2 weeks old.

It was still quite hard to photograph them as they move as soon as the camera flashes so i'm afraid its the best i can do for now.

Hope you like them. They've really grown too. Little man is still on the small side but he is catching up fast and not much smaller than his sisters now.

The first two pics are of the blue girl. I still think she is a colourpoint as she is not showing signs of tortie as yet.
http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o303/leedslassie6/bluegirl1.jpg

http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o303/leedslassie6/bluegirl2.jpg

Next we have the blue tortie girl. Her markings as you can see are very obvious.

http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o303/leedslassie6/tortiegirl2.jpg

http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o303/leedslassie6/tortiegirl4.jpg

The finally we have little man who is almost impossible to photograph as he is constantly on the move. Every time I try take his photo he thinks i am there to feed him and tries scrambling up the side of the kittening pen to get to me lol

Here are Fairy's babies now aged 7 weeks old.
I have only managed to get ones of the little boy who we nicknamed Stuart Little as thats who he looked like when he was tiny but not so much now. Stuart has stuck with him and now he answers to it. His smaller sister the blue tortie colourpoint. I will try and get some of the little bi colour when she decides to sit still. She kept moving everytime i took the photo
After studying his pic I think he is defiantely a colourpoint of some description lol but whether cream or red I am not sure as yet.
Excuse the straggly looking babies as they had just been fished out of the drinking fountain and were rather wet.
Right i've managed to capture Stuart and the little blue tortie girl but cannot for the life of me get a good one of the little bi colour but i will keep trying for one of her. Every time the camera flashes she looks away lol

http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o303/leedslassie6/stuartok.jpg

Here he is playing. Sorry its a bit blurred

http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o303/leedslassie6/stuartplaying.jpg

And here he is with little sis after they had both been taken out of the fountain and sat on the cat bed lol

Hope you like them. Will try and get one of the other sister tomorrow

Here are some grown up photo's of scruffy little Stuart who is now a beautiful boy and his sister Porchia who is equally as lovely.
My heart leapt when I saw how handsome my scruffy little man had turned out and I cried as he is so lovely and its a miracle he is still here with us really.
Hope you like them
