Well Morse's house and run is done at last! I think hubby wants to add a few final things in the run area but all in all it's more or less finished

The sun terrace

Ladder leading to look out spot!

Here's what the Meezer's (and Clooney) thought of it this afternoon :-D

Within 10 minutes all the Meezers had mastered the catflap (having never encountered one before)

Perhaps we ought to have invested in a bigger one to accomodate Mildred's ears

Mildred hasn't realised that there's a ladder down from that shelf

Porsha suddenly realises that there is something 'up there'

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v669/pretty1kitty/catpen029.jpg

and decides to take the hardest route up there  with Morse looking on..

Clooney decides to join the party and surprises us all with how agile he showing off his climbing skills

Morse and Porsha check out the sun terrace..

Bliss seems to enjoy a bit of sun too!!

Oh Fran - looks like your OH may be building another pen for the girls! :) - or can they go & visit Morse and enjoy the outdoors as long as they are not in call?

I think it will be a case of how Morse turns out really, if he is ok with the arrangement as he matures then yes that would be the ideal, letting the girls spend time out there when they are not in call. We do have room to build an almost identical pen directly opposite this one, so maybe in the future, hubby might build another. He has enjoyed this project, I must say :D

You are just showing off now with your smart cats!!! :-D :-D My Misty took three years - they will have to come teach her how to come in now as she is stuck outside if she gets through it to go out

Yes the holes are rather large tbh but we had this wire already, so it sort of saved us buying some. I have asked hubby to run some chicken wire along the bottom of the pen which is where I think they will try and get out if they are going to. If we find the wire reeally isn't suitable then we will buy some more with smaller holes.

Here's a piccie of the indoor area ;) We have added a few bits and pieces since these piccies were taken, beds etc..

Just seen this Fran, like it! Does the inood bit attach to the house? The brom fencing at the one end, is that just the end of the run? Just curious, I like it a lot, and the Cats seem to too! This hexagonal aviary my Ferrets were in, these Cats here love it too, funny things is Cats!

Thanks Dawn, yes the indoor bit is part of our back porch. It's rather a large porch, so hubby built a wall to partition some of it off as the stud house. We feel happier knowing that you cannot get into the stud house without getting into our house as it were. Plus which it will be easier letting spend time in the house as he can saunter straight in, we don't have to carry him up and down the garden.

Yes, those panels form the end of the run. There is room to extend some of the run outwards if we felt necessary, although if we ever decided to build another pen for the girls opposite this one then this would not be possible. I think we will see what happens as time goes on. They do very much enjoy it out there I have to say. They literally run to the back door in the morning to be let into it :D

Its excellent, job very well done there! Like it a lot. I know what you mean about wanting to go out, Wiggy and Moose are waiting when I get up, whatever the weather, they cant get out of the garden (and thankfully never tried) and the pen is always open, so they fly down the garden if its raining, but even if its just an hour or so they seem much more content after they have had their time "outdoors"
