So far! As this tomato was beginning to ripen I wrapped it in part of the plastic sleeve the newspaper comes in...wasn't sure if it would work, but worth a try...and it did! It's safely in the house and I shall have it at lunch tomorrow!! Ta da!!!

lol @ Jac! If I had an allotment or even a large garden I wouldn't begrudge the odd tomato being stolen, but when you only have room for three plants, every one is precious! So far, 4 have ripened and it's tied...two for him, two for me...and that is not a good ratio........ :-D
Eileen 1 ... Squirrel ZERO!! haha!! :D
Tom :-D xxx

Well done Eileen. I would have thought the squirrel would have found his way through the plastic (when you think his teeth will crack hazelnuts.) Maybe it prevents him finding the tomato via its aroma?
I think my outdoor tomatoes are starting to show blight (all my potatoes are blighted :? ). Bloody weather. Potatoes, tomatoes, broad beans - the whole allotment site looks so sad.
If this continues we'll form a new wave of emigrants to the US, just like the Irish - see you soon DM! :)
okay my bets are on that the squirrel gets the next one
