Was it this one...

Sir Henry Wyatt 1460-1537 spent 2 years in prison undergoing torure ordered by Richard III. Each morning a cat brought him a pigeon from a neighbouring dovecote and his compassionate jailer cooked it for him.

He wasn't Scottish but Yorkshire-born (Northern England) but he was in jail in Scotland.
