.. Will lose more than their mittens at this rate!! i have been wondering why I haven't seen any kitten poos in the litter tray! I found out why:evil: Little wretches have been going under my dining room table:twisted: . I though mum was supposed to train them?? I have now cleaned it up as best as possible. I don't have any cleaning stuff on hand just now, and put a litter tray on top of where they were doing it. It better work or it's back to the shed for the 3 monsters:-D

yes Mags, done that, all they wanted to do was eat the stuff!!! I have just managed to get Emily to do a wee in the bigger tray. I put her in and kept pushing her bum down, this is the first time i've seen any of them do this so hopefully the other two will follow suit!

Alex, did you keep one of the little poos to put in the litter tray?? Then they would see what it was for.

I hope they start to behave themselves

Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!

If they mess outside the tray pick up the poo and put it in the tray. If they pee soak it up on a bit of kitchen towel and put it in the tray too. Just keep popping them in the tray after they have eaten or woken up from a nap, they will soon get the idea. Once they have used the tray once or twice they will usually be fine after that. Also if you catch mum in the tray doing something quickly pop in a kitten with her, that also seems to work!

Also if they were ALL goin under your table in the same place then that's a really good starts as they are being clean by doing it in a specific place, just the wrong specific place! They will get there very soon I bet. ;)

lol, they still have their mittens sarah!!

Thanks for that advice Random. I didn't keep a poo unfortunately, but I have soaked a bit of tissue with wee and put the tray on top of where they were going. Just waiting until they finish feeding just now to pop them in again lol!

Keep up Kelly lol!!

I brought them into the dining room a few weeks back (completely off limits to my 3) because of the difficulty I was having when we had the really heavy rain getting up to the back of the garden. Not had any problems up 'til now!!

Oh I see.

Are they in a kitten pen? If not can you get hold of one, just to try & contain them in one place whilst they get the hang of the litter tray?

Nope don't have one, will give Nicky a call in the morning to see if I can borrow hers as her latest lot of kittens have finished with it.

Bad babies! (and really bad mummy - doesn't encourage them to eat and doesn't teach them to be clean! Good job she will be spyed and not have any more hooligan children!:) )
Hope you've sorted it. The putting wee/poop into the tray is a great tip, so is popping the kits in the tray after meals and holding their feet gently and digging with them.

Moli posted a really good tip for getting cat-wee smell out of carpets and preventing cats returning. You use white vinegar. Sorry I can't find it but if I've time later I'll have another look. Or maybe google 'cat carpet urine vinegar' and see if that comes up trumps.
