lol the trouble is at the moment if I don't keep moving I am seezing up!!!! lol

I did really enjoy the walk though :) I did 10 laps of my village (2 miles a lap) and half way into the walk some builders turned up and started building a front wall for somebody and on my last lap one of them said "are you lost??" :-D made me chuckle

Thanks everybody.

DM The only problem I can really see about the walk is that is at night, I think our slot starts the walk at 11pm!!! I am normally in bed by then!!!! lol but as you say it least it isn't in the hot weather which will be good.

Even today I think I could have walked a further 6 miles, so I know physically I should be ok. Got some more training to do next week and then I have a week of relaxing before the big day :)

I could really get into this power walking and I might start walking like this more regularly. I thoughly enjoyed the walk today although at times it was a little hard going.

Thanks Mags, Not sure what happens if it does rain, don't really fancy walking in the rain, especially if it is a downpour

You're in really good condition now Emma if you could have gone another mile or so! And you were by yourself, right? On the actual walks/.runs the companionship of the others gives you a boost!

Hi dandysmom, yes I was walking by myself, I was listening to the radio on my mobile phone though!!! lol

I don't really feel as if I am in good condition!!! lol I am hoping to do some more walks next week so it will be interesting to see how I recover.

I did get a rather good book on power walking so I am going to have a good read, loads of tips in there :)

I've never done a longer walk than 10 miles: did the AIDS walk for years till they changed the day to Saturday from Sunday (bad day for me), but found that the companionship and chatter of the other walkers was a real help! I'm still laughing at that workman's comment!!

I am looking forward to the walk now Dandysmom, as you say the companionship and atmosphere should be great. I feel a bit better knowing what walking 20 miles is like.

How many of the AIDS walks did you do???

Hopefully in future I will do more walks for charity I was reading about a three day walk in China which covers 100 miles :) now THAT would be good, or walking the Inca trail :)

I did 6, Emma. All my tee shirts are almost worn out by now; last walk was in 2000. The Inca trail sounds fabulous...if, as I suspect, rather hilly and at high altitude! Not so sure if I'd want to do China, with their air and water pollution problems...

Hope you will be able to do a long charity trek Emma. My Sahara one was one of the most wonderful experiences of my life!

It was 100 km Emma, over 6 days walking, I think.
You should get more comfortable as the day progresses and your muscles stretch out a bit. But I expect you wil e tired tonight.
