Mally's Babies Are Here !!!!!

Well at long last Mally's babies are finally here :)

They started coming at 5am this morning and last one was born at 11am so not bad going. Final head count is 6

We have three creams and three blue creams. Looks like three of each sex :)

Mum and babies doing really well.

Some sad news one of the girl babies has just died.
I'm thinking it could be the one who swallowed a lot of mucus when she was born and thats what has caused it. The others seem totally fine so fingers crossed it was that one we lost

As you can imagine with the fiasco with Peapod losing all her babies i am feeling slightly disheartened and negative at the moment.
I am so scared we are going to be going down the same road and all of them will die.
Fingers crossed its just me being daft and working myself up and they will be ok

Sadly it looks like we might be losing another of the little girl kittens. She is very weak and has lost weight since she was born so its not looking very good.
I have started supplement feeding her to see if i can try and save her and get her feeding properly and to gain a little weight will keep you all updated.

Oh Sarah, I am sorry to hear this :( It's not uncommon though for them to loose a little weight in the first 24 hours after birth, so if it's not a great weight loss I wouldn't be too concerned at this stage. Please let us know how she is later...

Sarah - firstly congratulations on a successful and beautiful litter. Don't loose heart, sometimes the little weak ones don't pull through but please don't panic that Peapod's scenario will repeat itself. Try and keep a cool head and just deal with what comes your way.

You and Mally have done a brilliant job so far; keep up the excellent work!!!

Thanks DM, Fran and Yola. I'm trying my best to stay positive but its hard.
I am trying not to tempt fate by thinking too positive but the other kittens are thriving and their weight gains were really good today. One being as high as 23g. So I am keeping focused on their progress but at the same time trying my best to pull the little one round.

Hi Everyone
Sadly she didnt make it and she died last night:cry:

I am hoping thats the end of my run of bad luck and from now on in things will be ok. We will just have to wait and see. I will weigh the kittens again this evening and report on their weight gains.

I will also try and take some more photos of them if they keep still enough for me to lol

Well the babies are now 1 week old and just starting to open their eyes. They are putting on weight really well and nearly all of them have doubled their birth weight. Mally is doing a really good job and needs mum of the year award bless her.

I have to say they have not been as hard work as i thought they would be and my worrying hasnt been as excessive as i thought. I am managing to pretty much leave Mally to it. I weight them every day just to keep a check on their weight but will only do that for another week and then thats it. After that i dont have any contact with them at all. Its hard but i restrain myself from picking them up and kissing them lol

Not like me then! I kiss and cuddle them all every couple of hours whilst I'm in, I just can't resist as they are so adorable. They light up my life, they are wonderful. I am still weighing mine every third day or so just to keep any eye on things and of course it's an excuse for an extra cuddle ;)

Here are some new pics of the kittens now 4 weeks old. I keep saying they are 5 weeks and wishing their little lives away bless em.

Pixie is my absolute favourite and i am hoping her new owner changes her mind so she can stay here with me as I will be devastated when she goes. I love her so much. She is a real little doll and has a lovely personality.

Hope you like her and her brother. The other one wouldnt sit still long enough for a photo lol. My favourite is the one of her on the yellow blanket.

They are doing so well. Pixie is her usual impy self and so suits her name.
Cream of the crop is a tyrant and can now throw himself over the bottom stable door of the kittening pen to freedom lol. One minute he is in the pen the next he is charging round like something possessed
Tom Thumb has his moments but is the quieter of the family however he does join in and play with his brother and sister.
They seem to have fun clambering all over a giraffe ornament i have sat at the side of the tv

Well a quick update. Time flies so quickly.

The kittens went for their first vaccinations today at the vets and got the all clear on their check ups from the vet.
They have their second vaccination on the 14th August and then they leave for their new homes the week after :cry:

They have been a dream litter to have and i will miss them dearly but i know they are going to really good homes.
Cream of the crop is now registered Bailey's Dream and his pet name is Bailey. Tom Thumb's pet name is Reggie. They are both going to young families with children who are dying to meet them and make a fuss of them, they will be very spoilt little kitties.
Pixie of course is staying here with us and continues to be her usual impy self causing havoc wherever she goes the little monkey.

The kittens were 13 weeks old last week and are going to their new homes this weekend. Except Pixie who is staying here.
They have the pet names of Pixie, Bailey and Reggie.

They are adorable kittens and have been a joy to look after. They will bring their new families such joy and happiness without a doubt.

Well today was the big day and Bailey went off to his new home this evening :( It was much harder than I thought it would be to say goodbye to him. But he is going to a very loving family and the children he is going to live with saw him for the first time today and were so excited at him going home with them.
