Cat Flaps..

I know we have had discussions r.e. cat flaps before but I need a specific type of cat flap for Morse. It has to be able to be fitted through a brick wall and I also want a lockable one so that I can contain him safetly at night. So has anyone any recommendations please?

Fran, there are some Staywell 4 way locking cat flaps here that can be fitted through walls ..... Nos.715, 917, 919 ........ they may need tunnel extensions depending on the thickness of the wall....

I think Ive said before I have a catflap built into the wall. We did it when the porch was built the cat flap a straight foward 4 way staywell lockable flap, Open/in/out/locked.
the ctplap was put built into a frame for it ie pieces of wood screwed together so the flap was rigid then the flap was put intothe brickwork not hard I imagine the same could be done to put a new on in. The flap and fram is one brick wide (perfect) 3 bricks high (perfect) so in effect removing a brick wide and three down should do it, on the inside you know how you build up breeze blocks inside with za facing of brick on the outside well we just left a breeze block out or you could remove one. So in effect inside there is a tunnel to step into no trouble.

I was trying to work something out before the porch was built everyone was involved, builders, my OH, Dad, brother, brother in law, everyone then it just came to me, get a normal catflap then put it in a wooden frame (so like being in a wooden door or panel) then put in the brickwork.

Kazz, yours is wonderful!! What a clever design, well done :cool: Ours is going to have to fit into and existing wall however. So it has to have a tunnel to go through the wall. Mags, I think one of those will definitely be what I am looking for thank you. I'll let hubby have a look and decide.
