View Full Version : Petite sizes rant!
I have always struggled getting clothes especially trousers to fir me!being only 5ft my legs aren't exactly long legs!:roll:
Top shop and Dorothy Perkins have a petite section but they are too petite so i used to get all my clothes from next,but they have changed there sizes and now their jeans are too long :evil: i brought a new pair last week and they are ruined all ready!
I have resulted in having to wear my sisters age 14/15:shock: jeans.
can any of you short people out there recommend any shops with good petite sections in pleassssseeeeee,im quickly running out of clothes to wear.
Don't know of petite sizes Erin, but I have a similar problem, am 5ft 8, need 32 lenght, but ladies jeans are far too wide in the legs for me, so I now wear girls size 10 bootleg...fit me fine...

I am 5ft 2 and always have to have my trousers taken up - tis so annoying cos I am sure they lose something in the alteration. Never look the same after.
Got some jeans at the weekend that were 3/4 length style but normal length on me tho!!! Not sure whether to leave them as normal length or make them fit me as 3/4 length!!!

your right they never look the same after they have been altered!
its so frustrating, i cant get a pair of 3 quarters from anywhere that fits me!
i have the added struggle of trying to get size 6,which is why im gutted next have changed all their sizez because top shop rarely have size 6's in.
good excuse to start shopping at monsoon and river island though,even if it does brake the bank a little :lol:

lol smudgley,not really moaning,its just you get more choice in the ladies sizes, that and the only real place i can go and buy teenagers clothes in kiddy is new look and even then i still struggle with the length :roll: maybe i should have that stretching thing done :lol:

Erin, I sympathize with you about petite sizes: I'm short also, 5"1', and I usually have to turn the hems up on jeans as they're still too long! And I'm shaped funny also, my fat is around my waist so need a US size 14, and they are always too baggy!! I don't have heavy thighs nor a fat butt, but to get them to fit at the waist I end up with baggy jeans!!! I hate it, but have never found any makers that allow for this...:roll: :( If I ever win the lottery I'm going to go to a custom tailor and get lots of jeans with slim legs that fit!!!
its a pain isnt it eileen,if i win the lottery im going to open loads of shops just specifically for petites!

my cousins partner is also a teeny lol, she does a lot of her shopping in Pilot! Apparently they do a very good petite range. Deb is also a size 6 and 5' tall (makes me feel like a big fat amazon standing next to her lol)

Well, Alex, you could always get gastroenteritis! It was a year ago yesterday that I got a nasty case of it; sick as a dog, lost my appetite completely, everything tasted funny, dragged on for a month....but I lost 10 pounds!! Not a weight-loss program I'd recommend!!:-D How's Mr. Alex's rib today!
Alex my mom keeps telling me that,she says its the family curse!

Oh I don't know Eileen, anyone know of anyone with any nice sick bugs LOL!!! He's still in pain but feeling a lot better than he was, so it seems that it's more likely bruised ribs rather than anything broken (I did let him off the garden today though hee hee)

As I am only 5ft 1, I have trouble with finding jeans to fit the length of my legs to... The only place I can get jeans to fit without taking them up are from Matalan!

My brother n 2 of my mates are like that, eat a load of rubbish n not put any weight on! unlike me!:mad:
Im quite active and do alot of pilates just hope that will be enough to keep it off me!

Just found this thread too.
Erin Asda do a brilliant range of petite stuff and if you dont get what you want there go to the teenage section. Dont know how they work out there sizes though as I'm a 13 year old. Normally and 8 waist and 12 top. Now that's out of sink.:lol: Oh and a 5 shoe.
Ive just got back from a shopping spree curtesy (sp) of Mr E and im very pleased to say NEXT have made one last attempt to stop the divorce proceedings:roll: :lol: and i must say im very impressed,i have brought a gorgeous pair of white trousers that fit me nearly perfectly (just a tinsy bit to long but wearable).So at the moment NEXT and I are on speaking terms again,have also struck up a new friendship with Newlook have brought a gorgeous mini from there and 3 tops,so a very good day shopping for petite clothes :D

I have a rotten time finding clothing as well. I am at the wrong end of height however. >.< I'm 5'7'' and have to wear children's clothing for anything to fit correctly wasit-wise, however, when it comes to the length, everything is far too short for me! Trousers are a nightmare to find for me.
