View Full Version : Scratch poles....
Anyone know of a pole that will last! The one my cats have at the moment, is only about 6 weeks old, and they have ruined it already..

I would like to know the answer to that too as my scratch pole is about to disintegrate too!!
There must be one that will last a bit longer!

I hope so!!! I swear my cats get the carving knives out when I have gone to bed!!!!
I have never gone for a bit scratch post thing, but maybe thats not a good idea if they dont last. I just get the pole ones but some are obviously better quality than others.
My first one lasted about two years (from kittens to two obviously) and then the one I have now has lasted about six months and is about to fall apart!!

I have just ordered a fatboy scratching post for my two. They are meant to be longer lasting/hard wearing as they are designed with big, strong cats in mind such as maincoons and nfc's. I am collecting it tomorrow and can give you an update on how it goes if you like.

They are quite expensive, aprox £30 plus postage and packing of around £10 to £15, so I thought I'd go to my local pet shop and ask if they can order one and for how much. They can and so i am getting it for £30 and no postage and packing.;)

the one I got my 3 for christmas is still going strong, hardly showing any wear at all. I have the one shown in this link

Found this site where it is a bit cheaper...

Only £21 but postage is £6.99 so equates to £28 total, but if you were ordering other bits the postage wont seem so excessive.
