A trip to the vets today

Well the neighbours cat came in today, another big hole in his neck, it looks like an abscess has burst, the hole he had last summer still isn't completely better so hes booked into the vet at 2.40 for a check up and possibly blood tests to check for anything nasty.
We have shut him in the conservatory and hes spent the last hour trying to find an escape route, god knows how hes going to react to being put in a carrier, then a car then the vets :?, really looking forward to that!
Will ask the vet about how to go about finding him a new home, not that we've ruled out keeping him - we just can't make up our minds what to do right now!

Just got back, he was so good it was quite unbelievable! Nice and relaxed about the car. He has had his blood tests results come back tomorrow.

He did have an abscess too, they lanced it and gave him a shot of antibiotics that will last for 2 weeks, we discussed handing him over to the cats protection people but I think my b/f wants to keep him (usually its me wanting to take on cats & I have been so good trying not to get attached to this one :roll:) , we'll see what the test results say and take it from there.

Glad he's okay and fingers crossed for the bloods. Abcesses can be quite nasty. Misty used to get them regularly, however now he's nearly 10, he would rather curl up somewhere warm indoors than go outside.

Blood tests results just in, he tested negative for FIV & FeLV :), so now its decision time for me and b/f.
I have the number for the Cats PL, no one is there right now but will phone them later, perhaps they will help with the neutering costs but I will discuss handing him over too, just in case ;).
Haven't actually seen him today, hope hes not put off because of yesturday, I did tell him he has to come back now that I've paid money out for him!
