Oh bless the poor fella . . . he's such a sweetie; lovely picture of him there. I remember some time back you were having problems with his health. Have you managed to get him seen by a vet yet (if it's the same problem that's recurred).

Hope he's fine again really soon :-)

Yeah we took him the vets because he kept vomiting, he had a full blood sample taken n his kedneys, liver and thyroid are all fine so the vet thought it must be an infection somewhere in his gut... but he's been of that medication quite a while now and he's still being sick. Last night he was sick and i think in the sick there was blood, he's been sick since n ive not seen any blood (but my mum says she's seen it) So i phoned the vet again this morning and he's got an appointment at 2.30 tomorrow. Dunno what they can do though, he's not got the strength for an opperation (he's really really skinny under all that fur!), N i cant bare to put him to sleep coz he wants his food but just cant keep it down.:(

Probably an obvious question, but has he been tested for an overactive thyroid? Quite common in cats - I've had two cats who had it, and the symptoms sound similar, frequent vomiting and constant hunger.

(Sorry if this has been asked before!)

Oops - just noticed you said he had! (Senior moment)

HI Janey, he is very handsome , has he had any sort of treatment for his vomiting ? Cats get gastric ulceration/inflammation as easily as people & if all his blood tests are ok maybe the vet will try some treatment (some of it is very similar to human treatments), hope the vet has some answers good luck

Hiya I've missed seeing him. Lovely pictures of him as always as he is so photogenic a gorgeous lad with attitude :)

You can actually see in his eyes he does not feel too good, hope the vet finds the reason why. When they get older we worry constantly sometimes you get a feeling of impending despair and find it is something that can be resolved easily. Hope this is the case with Tigger.

Take care Karen

Hiya, thanx everyone.

Well took him, the vet said it could be 2 things, either hair balls in the stomach, (we brush him everyday coz he's getting on now, so i dont think its hairballs!) which may block the food from getting through his stomach so that would cause him to vomit!

The other thing is stomach tumors, she had a feel of his stomach and couldnt feel anything like that... though she couldnt feel all the stomach coz it hides.

So she's give us some gel for him to take, thats to loosen the hair so it can come out, has to take that for 3 days! if nothin changes she's given us the liquid he was on before for him to take so he keeps his food down, which will start after the gel.

His voice seems to have gone aswell...he's just got a crokey(sp) squeek now, vet didnt say anythin about that.

She also weighed him, he is 3.5. around this time last year or few months later he weighed 4.5.

So will just see how he goes on now, i really hope he gets better.

Think that was everythin.

Glad he's back home, and so hope the gel will help him! I've always given mine a dab of Petromalt twice a week to facilitate hair passing, and never had a hairball problem except for Patches, who hated the taste of it....she regularly whoopsed up hairballs! Give Tigger a cuddle from me too ...:D
