Fantastic shot; not blurry at all. how did you catch them in motion like that? Just awesome! What kind of birds are they?

They are "Great Tits" Eileen. You have to set a fast shutter speed to freeze the action.

Thanks Alex.
With a compact Luke, they lack manual controls, they are point and shoot with different modes. There are however some that do have manual overides, I will check to see if yours is one of them.

OK Luke, your camera does have some manual settings :
Fully manual exposure is available along with shutter and aperture priority modes. Shutter speeds can be varied between 15 seconds and 1/2000 seconds while the aperture has a range of F3.2 to F8.

This is the review that excerpt was taken from.
You should try using the shutter priority modes for faster speeds, also try using the "sports" setting as this has a faster shutter speed setting.

Dawn it must be soooo satisfying to come up with results like that. Just lovely. (and I still think you could turn your hobby into a (full or part time) profession)

No pressure then . . . .
