Derek was at the hospital today. He has been told that his elbow problem (it looks like he has one growing on top of the other)is gout. He also has it in his knee and toe. The consultant is going to write to the Doc. He said there are things he can take for it but they do have side effects. Does anyone know of any herbal products that could help him?

No Jac but I know diet is important. Do a google and find the good and the bad foods

We already know that too much red meat is bad and alchol. You have to decrease it gradually or it can bring on an attack.
The anti inflamitary's that he takes, in time can cause stomoch ulcers:( . That much I know as I take them. I'll do a wee google. (why do I never think of that?) Thanks

Too much spicey food is bad. My OH had his first and only attack (many years ago) after inadvertantly having curry 3 days in a row. He took the medication and hasn't been troubled since.
It's very painful so I hope Derek is well soon
