as you know im picking up my new bengal kitten in the middle of february,so want to start thinking of names so that the breeder can get him used to it.

i like really unusual names. i mean, my staffie is called indie and we had a rottie last year called phoenix. oh and the siamese last april called Tao.

So any unusual suggestions would be appreciated :)

the only names on our list at the mo are Aslan and Houdini.

I allways said if i ever got the siamese/oriental tom it would be called Phairos (can be spelt differently), pronounced Fair-rosse.

well even tho he is 2 hrs away, i may just go and see him before i pick him up, it might give me a feel for his character and a subsequent name :)

still, need some really inspiring ideas for very unusual names....

If I get another cat I am probably going to call it Guess and if there are two the other may be called What . So that when people ask what they are called i can say Guess What. But it might just be my sense of humour.

Agra, Delhi, or Sherpa., which of course isn't a place name, but might fit if the kit turns out to be a climber! When I was waiting for my Singapura kitten I pored over the atlas trying to find a Malay or Chinese name for him; couldn't find anything that suited me, and one day it occurred to me that he was born in Massachussetts ...a regular Yankee doodle dandy...hence ended up being Dandy! Good luck with the name choice; let us know what you decide!

One of my cats is called Kuta, which is a place in Bali as she is a Balinese mix.

Another is called Indah, which means "handsome" in Indonesian, as I'd just been on holiday there.

If you look on Google or another search engine you may be able to find a dictionary to convert from English to Bengali and see what "handsome" is in their language.
