Just found a lump on Tilly. It is on her chest and about the size of a golf ball. It can't be an abcess as she hasn't been out side for weeks even then she was only outside once and won't go out now. It has come up very recnetly.

Got an appointment on Monday so we will see what it is then.

It all go around here.

Oh Sally - I hope it's just a cyst or something equally benign. Don't panic - I know it's easy to say, but don't worry until you know you have to (if you know what I mean  ).

In the interim . . . hugs to both you and Tilly.

I agree with Yola.
Cysts are quite common and easy to remove. Kazz's old lady, Cleo, had one removed when she was over 20 years old - Tilly is just a child in comparison.
Try to stay calm - chance are it'll be fine

Thanks she seem to be OK aside from her usually sneezing which isn't getting better even with anitbiotics.:(
But I am remaining calm until monday when we will see what it is.
She is supposed to be going to a cattery on Wednesday as I am off to scotland for christmas with my family.
But my mum and Dad have said if she needs an operation she can come to scotland as we own the houe we are staying in and she can stay in my room and have loads of love.

Hello Yes try not to worry DM is right Cleo had an op to remove a large "golf ball +" sized cyst in Jan 2006 she was perfectly fine and no probs since. I can find a pic of her cyst if you want to compare???

Yeap cysts are soft. Cleo's was removed Jan 18th 2006, she had nothing else wrong with her but the size got big enough to warrant removal so we did.
She went in the morning, home early afternoon, she was perfect totaly fine even had a couple of teeth cleaned while she was under. Eating by tea time same day and right as rain - no worries at all and she was of course 23 years old then.
This was her lump, this was taken 20th Dec 2005

Thanks for the photo. Tillys lump can only be felt not seen. But is could still be a cyst what ever it is I am sure she will be fine.

Yeah Cleo's could only be felt and I left it on vet's advice due to her age but it grew and the size more than anything else warranted the removal.

Take care and don't worry she will be fine. Its scary when they aren't to good or they have something wrong but try not to worry.

I was fine until about 4pm when I started to panic that it might be something nasty. But feel better now. Don't know if I will get much sleep though.

Just got off the phone and it is definately a fatty lump which can be removed next time she goes under an anestetic (sp) but is not a major problem or anything nasty. It is more of a look thing as it will probably get bigger and more annoying to her.

I have also decided to take her with me to Scotland as this will be less stressful for her. It is also on the advice of the vet who is going to give me some seditives so that she sleeps the whole way up. She is very much a people cat so will be Ok once she gets up there.

Thanks for the support.
