Here is my new baby  She's a lilac tortie Oriental and I brought her home today. She is 20 weeks old and unlike Porsha this girl is show quality.

There is nothing wrong with Porsha, we absolutely adore her but she isn't show quality. She has a problem with one of her eyes which would disqualify her from showing. We always said that we would have two to keep each other company. I got this girl from a different breeder as once bitten, twice shy as they say.

Forgot to say that we haven't chosen a name for her yet ;)

It's a shame Royce and Roller are masculine sounding names - you could do the classy cars thing! What about Lexus/Lexy/Lexie - that's quite nice and I believe they are smooth executive motors :)

She's nice Fran, shame about Porsha, but any puppy or kitten is a gamble. Did you finish the pen for her?

It is a gamble Dawn but I think the breeder knew. It's a very long story, Porsha has had several problems since we got her and the vets did advise us us to return her to the breeder. Of course we couldn't possibly do that as she is a huge part of our family now ;)

The pen is still not quite finished but neither of the girls will be going out until next spring/summer now. In all fairness, Porsha just hasn't been well enough to go out.

She is certainly much better now Luke, thank you for asking. Although it is likely that she will have some long term health problems. She is clapping weight on now and growing. She was so under weight when we got her that it was a huge concern when she became ill. It has been a big battle to get weight on her but I think we have just about cracked it now. She seems so much happier since yesterday when the new cat came. It's funny how they seem to like their own kind even though she gets on famously with Maud, Claude and Clooney

Lol Porsha was named after one of the moons of Uranus :D I always said that when we got another we would call her Ophelia (another of the moons of Uranus) but it doesn't seem to suit her somehow...

So sorry to hear Porsha has been so poorly Fran, thats the thing isn't it "return to breeder" but what happens to them then. Its so easy to get attached and one you are you do all you can - its the heartless who are the winners.

Back to the name theme though - any thoughts yet?

I absolutely love Phoebe but it's a difficult name for hubby - long story!

Her breeder called her Bliss and whilst I would say she doesn't majorly know her name, it is growing on me and I am tempted to keep it as everyone here just seems to call her Bliss...
