Dog behaviour patterns (for an assignment)

Hiya, (if this is in the wrong place then please feel free to move it)

Ive started college doing an animal care course and i have got my first assignment.:shock:
(ive tried to find the dog site some of you guys go on but cant find it!)
And was wondering if any of you can give me any normal and abnormal behaviour patterns in a group and of a single dog/s?

I have dogs what would you like to know? always willing to help there are a few dog owners here, me, Dawn, DM, Moli, Fran Luke etc

Just like how they become dominant, facial expressions(are more what i need), anger/happy. That sort of thing.
and for abnormal.... somethin like shadow chasing.

If no one can help, don't worry about it. Just wondered if i could get some good information.

Right looking at facial expressions, happy = tail wagging ears forward or upright showing interest, Tess showing interest happy.

Sal happy and yet at the same time almost submissive/gentle, kissing Sophie, they are gentle around the children.

In this one you can't see Tess's face but this is a dominant stance or as dominant as my two get (given they are pets and know their place) this was because a friend was at the other gate and with his dog who Tess and Sal know well but the sight of another dog in their garden caused this from Tess, not upright stance tail held stiffly and in this case in the air, ready to balance her in case of trouble, face = ears up and alert, sometimes hair between their shoulder blades rises up like "armour" sign of ready for action. Sometimes accompanied or preceded by low rumbling growling.A warning but not always.

Sal & Tess (as a puppy) totaly relaxed,you can see not a nasty thought in her head even though she had only met the pup an hour or so before, she is totaly bomb proof I think sometimes. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v230/kazz76/together.jpg
