I took her to the vet on friday because she was sneezing. I thought it was her usually problem. She was given an antibiotic injection as she is a nightmare to give pills to. The vet said bring her back on Monday if she is still sneezing. She was fine all weekend but had a big sneezing fit just before I rang to cancel. Then when I got her back she was sick so I gave her some chikcen and she ate that but now she won't eat. She is not even interest in food, I have offered her chicken and gourmet gold which she will usually scoff but she doesn't want to know.:( So we are back to the vet tonight. Hopefully she will be OK I will keep you posted.

Do you think her nose is a bit blocked and she can't smell her food to get her appetite going? Maybe pilchards or sardines could cheer her up.
Hope the vet sorts her out quickly.

I hope Tilly is feeling better soon.

We used to have a cat that suffered from this throughout her life off and on, there was one time it got so bad that we were told to take her home and see if she made it through the night. She did and she lived to a grand old age of approx 20+ years old.

When she did suffer from it she wasn't able to eat and the vet said that was normal because her nose was blocked and she wouldn't be able to smell the food so wouldn't eat what she couldn't smell.

Does Tilly have an allergy that might be triggering this sneezing? I do hope the vet can put her right very quickly, whatever the problem might be.

Do let us know how she gets on.

The vet said she had a temperature and gave her an anitibiotic injection and an anti inflamitory to help bring her temp down. I have just got back for giving her breakfas and left her eating some warmed up chicken.

She sneezes because she is a virus carrier.

Tilly seems to be getting better as she ate some sensitivity control today. Her sense of smell seems to be returning. Tomorrow I have to start on aural antibiotics so we shall see if she will eat them (concealed in food)

Anyway thought I would let you know. I will keep you posted and thanks for all you support it is greatly appreciated.

Glad she seems to be on the mend now. My Dandy used to get the sniffles regularly every year, Fall and Spring & did the not-eating thing as he couldn't smell...I found that if I put a dab on my finger & rubbed his mouth he could taste it & it would usually get him to eat......

Poor Tilly was sick again today. She had only been fed chicken. Hopefully it was a one off as she is still pretty bright

Thanks for the continuing support. She was very cute and helped me clean up the litter I had dropped on the floor by climbing on me and treading on the dustpan.

Hope Tilly continues to feel better. How are the antibiotic tabs going?

I haven't managed to get her to eat them (covered in food). So she is going to the vets every few days for injections. As if I try to put them down her throat she stops eating and get very stressed.

Think thats the best way - less stressful for all concerned if the vet does it.
