OMG I was looking through the paper yesterday and the price people wnat for a moggie kitten is shocking! between £75 and £100:shock: .
How does this compair with your area? I guess the kittens free to good homes days are gone.
Not saying I was getting one, just window shopping for now. Pedigree's seem to be about the same price no matter where they are.

if I were to get a moggy kitten then I would go to the rescue and give them that amount of money for them I think.

I haven't seen adverts for kittens in ages - but I've not been looking though

I think its because most people spay there cats now.
I just couldnt justifay paying that for a moggy.

the only way I would justify paying that amount would be if the money was going into rescue to help other cats

I must admit I kind of worry that if people are charging this amount and getting it then some people might see this as easy money? Hopefully I'm wrong :(

Tend to think like Emm - the more people pay this silly money the more 'the wrong kind' of people will decide not to spay, or to have a litter to fund the spay
My two cost a total of £0 - and well worth it they are!

Here we have a variety of ads for kittens, some offering them free, some asking for money varying (usually) between £25 and £80 . . .

It would be a shame if despite all the hard work of Cats Protection and similar, non-breed-specific kitten breeding too off as greed would get the better of a lot of people I'm sure.:(

I'd happily pay double or trebble that for your lot! :-P

In my area they vary in prices anything from £15 - £85.

My free paper only had one ad from a non rescue place for kittens - half pedigrees for £30. And the pet shop I took the cats to last week only had pedigrees (althoguh not sure how responible a breeder they are if they are putting posters up on pet shop windows). I do hate people charging ridiculous amounts of money, it really must make people think it is easy money.
