The story of little Tommy has really gotten to me.
He is one of the cats my local CPL have, i was told about him at the weekend.
I have never heard of this before, nor seen it.

The poor little chappy. Does anybody know of anyone who has had experience with this before? i know my branch are trying to find someone who has,to get more info on the outlook etc

Isnt he a little love?
Soon as I heard about him on saturday i just HAD to take a look at the website.
I have just asked if they will be making tommy into a special sponsor cat and said if they do i would love to sponsor him.

I googled this condition but there is so little avaialbe about it. I know a lot of people here have some excellent advice to offer and have extensive experience with cats so thought somebody may be able to give a little help.

CJ - this is not a condition I'm familiar with - it sounds like a very rare congenital abnormality indeed!

However if Tommy is able to manage and adapt and that his increasing body weight (as he grows) will not overwhelm the bone having to take all the support on the front paws then there is probably no reason why he shoudn't 'carry on as normal'!!

I do hope the right home can be found for him. Often you find vet nurses will take on difficult cases like this as they have the specialist knowledge to spot problems.

Tommy is adorable and very special; tugs at the heartstrings and deserves a chance of a future :)

Must say i never head of it before. on one website I found it did say there were only 3 reported cases known, I dont know how true that is to date. As soon as I heard his story I just felt he would be an adorable little poppet. Apparantly he is starting to sit up like a meercat, think they said that on the webpage though.

Just makes you wanna give him a massive cuddle doesnt it!

Kim's Sidney (I think) has deformed front paws. She's posted a few pictures of him doing the meerkat-stance :-)

Here's the thread with Kim's post.
Could it be the same condition?
Sidney lives a happy life.
