View Full Version : Ninja knows what's his...

I have noticed recently that there's been a change in Ninja's attitude. To put it simply, he seems to understand, now, that I am his, and it has changed his behaviour quite a lot.

If I may anthropomorphise a bit, from how he's been behaving, he's just realised I am his human and that won't be subject to change - and seems to be really happy about it. When I see him, he rubs against every part of me he can easily get to, whilst purring and prancing cutely about. I don't know if prancing is a common feline body-language "term", but he only ever does it when he's happy so I can only assume :-)

He's grown more confident, more talkative, and more sociable (although he still stays in the kitchen and conservatory mostly, for human interaction - he rampages all over the house, though, and spends a fair bit of the recent rainy days on the top floor where he goes relatively undisturbed).

It is amazing to me. At first we were going to get the kittens for the purpose of helping Ninja become more socialised, and now that he has (of his own accord) contracted other cats into the household, the desired effect seems to be taking place. I'm so chuffed :-)

Thought you guys might like the update :-D I mentioned it in Sweep's picture thread, but I thought maybe the handsome cat in there might distract you from all the words

Ninja is surrounding himself with those that he feels comfortable with, both human and feline. I just love the fact that HE'S chosing the cats that he would like to share his house with . . . lovely!!! :-D

It's so heartwarming to hear a story of a cat that has done such a 180 degree about-turn thanks to the love that he's been offered.

You were absolutely right about the other cats helping with his socialising.
You're obviously his mobile safety-zone, and now that he has discovered that he *can* trust you completely, the step to include other people is a lot easier.

So proud of both of you (not that I can take any credit what so ever. :-)) and so happy he's found his place and feet so absolutely!

What a wonderful outcome and, yes, I do know what you mean about cats prancing to be petted.
He loves you and he feels loved. Give yourself a big pat on the back!

Yola, I'm just really glad we have the room, finances and ability to let him pick the cats that come into the house. I think in that sense, we got "lucky" that we're in an area where a catlady kept the stray cats in good nick until we came along to pinch them from her

Hreow, I thought you'd enjoy the news :-D

DM, I would but I can't reach
