Went on holiday last week and had a friend take care of my cats for me. They were able to come and go and she said she saw Abbi only once during this time and when Abbi saw my friend he bolted out of the catflap.
Abbi hasnt been home since. I have a cat loving neighbour who has a soft spot for Abbi so I know he is safe. Will he come home do you think?
I lost another tom cat when I went on holiday years ago its as though they think your not coming home and decide to find a new owner.

When he realises you are back and his routine back to normal he will be back I would think. It must be a shock for cats seeing people they don't know in their house.

Check with your neighbour he is okay and let her know what happened, aybe he will be follow you home.:)

We live right next to the woods so he likes to venture out often. Toms I have found are more experimental with distance. My queens always stay close.
I have shusshed him home from my bedroom window when I last saw him. He ignored me.
Poppy has been gone not a month do you think it has some effect to him?
My other two cats have got very affectionate and clingy since the Big Queen left us.

Cats are so fickle they are more than happy to go into other people's houses and crash out or have a bite to eat. My son has a cat that visits him daily although he looks very well fed. There are a few people at work who have cat visitors. I have never found cats to be as devoted as dogs but I am sure there are hundreds of you on this forum who would disagree:)

Glad she's back.
They are very good at making us feel guilty!

He has slept all day in his favouite place. Abbi is a boy if you missed the story. Had rescued him as a girl when he was very young. The vet confirmed he was male the name couldnt be changed as he was already recalling to it.
My vet was brilliant he said Abbi in Greek or Arabic or something or other meant fierce warrior. He gets called Babi most of the time just a conundrum of Abbi.
