Last night I got very sad news. My brother Gordon has got cancer again.
Three years ago at Christmas time he thought he has bleeding piles. He went to the Doctor and within 2 days was in hospital. He had bowel cancer. It was touch and go whether he would need a colostomy bag for life but lucky for him he didnt need it. He then went through chimo ect.
He was getting his yearly MOT as he calls it four weeks ago. There was a muck up with the x rays and yesterday he was told that the cancer is in his liver now.
I'm totally devistated. He's a good man, doesn't smoke drinks little and loves the outdoors. Fishes, sails and bike rides. He goes to church and has a lovely family. Why is life so unfair? (Dont worry I dont expect an answer)
Gordon has to come through to Edinburgh's western General hospital in two weeks time to start treatment. They specialise in cancer. Please think of him. Thanks. Jac.

All the luck in the world to Gordon. The Western is as good a treatment centre as you can find.

I don't know why sh*t things happen to good people either.

Everyone, count your blessings and be grateful for whatever quality of health you currently enjoy.

Thank you Mags and DH.
It was in the Western I had my disc removed. They do have a huge cancer center. I had to go for a telescopic thing after Gordons bowel cancer. They werent sure if it was heredity. We have since found out it isn't.

How terribly sad and devastating for your brother and you and your family Jac. Sadly, cancer can affect anyone without any exceptions. :( But I agree, it is so unfair. I really hope the chemo works and shall say prayers for Gordon. My thoughts will be with you all. {{hugs}}

Thank you all so very much for your best wishes and healing thoughts (and the hugs) .

I'm at the point I dont know what else can go wrong. My mum is on holiday untill the 21st. Even if she phone's I wont say anything but I have the great job of telling her when she gets back! Brilliant eh. Darryle was here when I got the call but I made him promise not to tell Sean or there concert would have been ruined. Not looking forward to telling either Mum or Sean. Sorry begining to rabbit.

Rabbit away. There's a very nice hutch in another thread. :grin: You have every reason, and it does seem to help if you at least don't have to hold all of it in all of the time.
