I am thinking about adding a kitten to the household. Holly (lurcher) 10 and Rosie (cat) 8. I know that Holly will be OK but not so sure about Rosie although she is an indoor/outdoor cat so spends plenty of time outside. What I am really concerned about is has it ever been known for one cat to inflict any serious injury to another cat. I have read about "spatting" but no one has ever mentioned injury. I thought a kitten would be better as there would be no dominance issues initially and the kitten would be spayed as soon as was healthily possible.

it took about 3 weeks of hissing and grumbling on barnabys behalf when we got ron n reg, but no major rucks, he would just get all hurt n offended and stalk off with alot of tail flicking (he was the master of the tail flick) but i think if u introduce the kitten gradully and as long as the older cat has their bit of space its shouldnt be too bad, but be on hand to break any thing up, slowly does it.:D
