Maple acers grow HUGE!!! I have one in my front garden. However it's very, very slow-growing as I've had mine 6 years and it's only about 15 ft!!

Larches are big too - but I don't know whether they grow quickly or not.

You could have bought them thinking of turning them into bonsai trees? I know there are maples. Also, I have very little knowledge of bonsai. :-)

They do both seem to be used in Bonsai. I've sent you a link for one of the pages I found.

Not to rain on your parade, but bonsai is hard, even for an experienced gardener, and bonsai from seed even harder. Give it a shot if you want, but don't be too disappointed at the results....

Best thing do a random search on the net and see what is comes up with - or pop along to a local nursery and ask thier advise.
