I don't think Cross Stitch is an old lady thing ;) here is one I did many years ago, it hangs in our bedroom

Perhaps one of the online shops might do them, I will have a quick look

I am sure CJ that it doesn't put your ones to shame, it was just a very intricate cross stitch as it didn't use Aida, more of a linen, you had to stitch over two thread on the fabric, hard work but worth it ;)

CJ the last link I posted had some more realistic ones, the funny ones are good aren't they?? lol

Ooooh, what a brilliant thread! Rufus' mummy is doing cross-stitch (she wants to do all the Christmas cards for next year in cross-stitch, so she's started now) and I'm sure she'll love these sites!

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8267213754&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEBI%3AIT&rd=1

They are both great CJ, that second one would be easier enough to change the background. Good luck with bidding!!!
well bidding on both, so we see.long as i dont forget when they end lol
Well, I won the cd-rom, so i can now design my own charts, and turn my photos into a chart.
First one I going to do is the piccy of my avatar ( minues the writing of course)
also found this auction i like

The Kats by Kelly designs are great if you like whimsical - I've got these ones in my 'stash' to do (well, the middle one is done  ) :

http://www.calicocrossroads.com/he/detail.cfm?ID=243
http://www.calicocrossroads.com/he/detail.cfm?ID=249
And this is also in the stash of things to do  :
http://www.sewandso.co.uk/cgi-bin/find/db.cgi?db=zoom&do=search_results&Prod_Code=22261&ww=1
And if you want a real challenge, how about this beautiful Birman by Teresa Wentzler:
http://www.sewandso.co.uk/cgi-bin/find/db.cgi?db=zoom&uid=&Prod_Code=10541&ww=on&do=search_results
I get all mine off eBay, usually from US sellers - sooo cheap!
ooh i really like that burman one, i could easily adapt that to make it lok like princess. might see about getting that one later on when i done the ones i bidding on now

If you get into Teresa Wentzler, she has a popular forum where people swap hints, tips, ask her questions, talk about what designer fabrics/threads to use and post pictures of their work. Many of her designs are fantasy dragons which isn't me, but I have her 'tapestry peacock' (not a tapestry but a stunning design of a peacock in a pear orchard) and a few of the carousel horses. This link may or may not work (not sure if you need to join ezboards first): http://p203.ezboard.com/bteresawentzler
The other ones I forgot are by Cross My Heart - 'Max's Moon' is of a tabby kitten in the moonlight, 'Moonwalk' is a cat having a stroll in the moonlight. All on the list to do  . They're in books (Kitten Kaboodle and Moonlight Kitties) though I think you can get kits too : http://www.sewandso.co.uk/ran938-40.html
well i'm pleased i won this on ebay :
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8267213754&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&rd=1
very cheap. Can't wait to start having a go at that.
Also going to make my avatar piccy into a chart to do too.
Havent done much stitching for a while, but got tonnes of materials etc, so cant wait to get going again.
just won these two charts on ebay, so pelased, less than £3 for both incl postage.
oh btw, if anybody would like a photo copy of any of these patterns let me know

Nice bargain CJ x
great bargain wasnt it! I have plenty of thread at home so can start as soon as they arrive. Will prob take me months to do, but it hoguht the one of the persian heads can easily be changed to creamy colours or greys to look like either of my two.
what with getting back into my x stitch and gardening i'll have plenty to keep me going. NOw all i need is to send the kids away all summer so i can get on with them all lol
i was sorting out my craft stuff and found two kits i had forgotten about, one country companions and this one of tigger:
http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e40/cjk231176/tigger.jpg
I made a start on the tigger one, wont take long as only a small one.
If anybody would like a copy of the pattern just Pm me .
Incidentally, does anybody know of any x stitch forums???
