Sad news...Thomas died in his sleep last night. I found him this morning when I got up...it looked like it had been peaceful...and Cleo was with him when I found him so it would be nice to think she was there when he went.

Buried him up in the wood tonight. He was almost 16 years old...and although he had been ill it was still a bit of a shock, but he went gently and softly I hope.

I would especially like to thank you all for all the kind messages and support you have given recently...it really means a lot.
xx Het

Het - how very sad for you, I'm so sorry. Any loss of a much-loved pet is a shock. However you are right that Thomas probably just 'went in his sleep' and that is by far the best way.

Lots of love and hugs ((((())))))

Oh, Het. What a beautiful way for him to go - I'm with you, I think it was painless, quiet and peaceful. And I bet Cleo was there. Cats can tell these things.

I'm very sorry for your loss. Thomas was a lucky cat to have lived such a long life with so much love, care and happiness. *hugs*

I am so sorry for your loss, it is never ever easy, however what a lovely way to go; peacefully in his sleep, in his own home and with Cleo beside him. Run free Thomas. Take care Het.

Sorry to hear this Het, there is obviously something special about Cleo's (yours and mine) ;)
I am pleased Tom went knowing he was safe and so loved. He sounds like a happy go lucky cat. And the woods sounds like a lovely place to lay him to rest.

Please take care of yourself Karen

Sad news Het. Be sad now, and, when you're ready, be happy that he went gently in his sleep and remember the (many many more) good times you shared.

Thank you so much everyone for all the lovely things you have said.It means so much, you are all very lovely people.:D

He was my first cat after leaving home so he has always been very special, and such a big part of my life. He was a very shy cat - but very affectionate with those he trusted. He and Cleo have always been close...they used to sit and make those mmrrrpp noises at each other:D

We will all miss him a lot...I even stuck his chicken in the microwave this morning before remembering:roll:

Thankyou everyone:D
