Other than a big tum Moli..you may be able to see her nipples more prominent and pink.

Well presuming an ultrasound scan is not an option  her abdomen shape will change & enlarge & her teats will go "pinker" but I guess that's not helpful if she's just passing by. Sorry can't be more helpful.

She lives next door and is always in the field next to my house, she is a siamese and very friendly, just thought she was a lot bigger than normal...Will give her a good going over next time I see her...

If she's a siamese Mol I would imagine she is a slender lady- so if she is getting bigger she may well be having kittens.

I'm not up to speed on " those neighbours" but i assume they let thier cats wander all over the place.
I thought siamese were like persians, house cats! shows what I kow.

Cats usually pink up at about three weeks but quite often the colour then fades again until nearer the birth. A vet would be able to feel kittens at about 4-5 weeks but after that it is harder. Other than that the only way is ultra sound but not every vet has one and I doubt your neighbours would be bothered. I have to agree with Smudgeley, Siamese are usually very slender so it does seem probable. Let us know.

Can I just make a comment on my thoughts of pregnancy diagnosis through palpatation.:?
Don't want to start a heated debate (& Kay - I am not disagreeing with you personally) but I have had this "conversation" many times on a popular dog forum (no not DW - the other one:oops: ) that I don't believe that any vet however experienced can palpate a cat or dog to diagnose pregnancy. I know vets say they can, but I strongly & firmly believe this is nonsense.

No offence intended, no argument wanted.:) :) :) :) :) :) :)

I am neither agreeing with you nor disagreeing with you Smudgley but would be interested to know why you feel so strongly about this....

OK this is why I think what I do, but I'm always interested in people's beliefs & if vets can do it then I take my hat off to them, but I think it's nonsense.
2 reasons - firstly...
as you know I work with dogs, mainly breeding bitches. Part of my job involves ultrasound scanning - I have a portable ultrasound machine - a cool piece of technology & every week I scan bitches to diagnose pregnancy. Never have I been able to feel a "string of beads" as they are supposed to feel like. OK so I'm not a vet, but the conceptuses are so tiny, really really tiny I dont believe they can be felt through the uterine horn and then muscle / skin of the abdomen.
secondly - I work alongside a Proffessor in reproduction, specialising in canine & equine reproduction. Not only does he have every book on reproduction, he wrote most of 'em  Well he can't feel if a bitch is in whelp by papatation. He is totally amazing with an ultrasound machine, he can show you the internal organs of an unborn feotus, he really is an amazing person, but I figure if he can't do it - noone can.

That's my thoughts on it.

Fair comment Smudgley. I was just interested in your opinions. I can fully understand why you do not think it is possible...

One lady on another forum has asurred me that a vet in Leamington spa can accurately palpate pregnancy & how many are in there - but it's something I have strong views on, I want it to be possible, I would love it if it were possible, but I just can't believe there is any truth in it. :)

Have had my vets diagnose pregnancy by this method and by listening to their heartbeats, Smudgley but even they said it isn't always possible.

i think i agree with Smudgley here always thought its a lot of stuff to feel though for such small items.

if the cat will let you pick her up Pat then you might be able to feel her nipples though her coat, that will save you looking, Scarlott has a very think coat but i can feel hers now without looking for them (not that i did after she pinked up) and i can even feel the ones at the top by her arms, before u wouldnt of felt them at all
and Scarlott still has 3 weeks left
