As some of you know I posted a few weeks back about my vets charging me £65(ish) to have Moli spayed.

Last night I contacted a local breeder and she gave me the web address to Budget Vets. They have 2 practices at the moment, both in South Wales. I contacted them this morning and to have Moli spayed is going to cost £27-50 and that's without a voucher. I have applied for a voucher from Cats Protection League but even if I don't get the voucher £27-50 is a lot better than £65

I wish places like these were advertised better, it'll save a lot of trouble for owner's like me who want to get their cat's neutered/spayed and don't always qualify for reduced rates. Their kitten vaccination course is £20 for the full course but if you want them vaccinated against lukemia aswell it's £30. Wish I'd known about these people sooner. They do microchipping for £10 whereas I paid £25 each for my kittens

Agree totally.
I'm sure it would help the 'unwanted' situation and animal health generally if vats could do these essential ops at a cost which just covers their expenses. It could be a daily chore for the most junior vets and help them improve their surgical skills.

Moli is booked into one of their local practices on Monday 13th February.

I'm already a nervous wreck

Oh I need a place like that.

In 1995 I paid over £100 for the neutering of my first cat, a beautiful girl named Raija

And Oliver got neutered in 1996 and cost me about £80.

And its £400 to get Luna spayed...

Hmm, I have heard about them before - what a brill idea, shame there aren't a few more about!! My daughter wants to be a vet and spent some time working at our local practice, she said it takes about 5 minutes to neuter a male and not much longer for a female!!
