Well we are detox-ing on Chr. Day so it'll be fruit and veg only as a respite, however Boxing day blow-out (for 8 people  )will consist of:

Nibbles with aperetifs

Starter - brioche with smoked salmon, poached egg on top, hollandaise sauce and a small dollop of caviar on the very top. Had that at a restaurant recently and nicked the idea . . . it was tasty!!

Main course - roast haunch of venison, cubed roast sweet potatoes/butternut squash/onion and steamed asparagus with redcurrant jelly

Desert - a variety of cheeses + chrispy apples and peppers

Then we will have individual mini-christmas puds with marscapone and little christmas-scented sparklers atop!!

Don't know!
We're going to our daughter's for what I have requested as a light lunch. She is a bit of a foodie, so we'll just have to see.............................

Then we're all comiong back here for xmas night, when I am making

nibbles - olives/nuts/nice crisps
venison casserole or winter veg casserole (my son is a vegggie) with roast pots, roast parsnips and sprouts
cheat's choc delight, as described elesewhere in this section.

Hope it all goes OK but with a total of only 4 to cook for it shouldn't be too much of a trial.
