They are just like Siamese except they have long hair. They come in most of the colours that Siamese do and are similar in temperament to the Siamese..

Here is a piccie I found of a Balinese cat :)

With their long hair they would also need to be regularly groomed .......

We used to live near one of these. Very beautiful and exceedingly friendly. Like most of the oriental type he seemed to be territorial (that may not be the right word - he knew where he lived, knew the edge of the area he was happy in and wouldn't move beyond it). He was often to be found sitting on his front lawn and was happy to come to the path and say hello.

I'd be tempted! :)

Mica is very chatty and lovely, she always wants to be the center of attention and is a total diva. She follows me everywhere I go and doesn't think there could be anything more important in the world than her! She is such a sweetheart! She is closer to a person than a cat.

Balinese are beautiful. If this really is a genuine reason for re-homing I would definitely go for it!!!

Mica is a kitten (six mons old) an older cat may be less chatty.

May not necessarily be an oldie cat. I help out at a local rescue centre and over the past few years have 'adopted' several oldie cats that I doubted would be re-homed. One was partly feral!!! Apart from the initial expected hissing, things worked out okay. Good luck if you decide to go for it!

what is the difference between balinese and burmese ?

I went to Battersea the other day and they had a Burmese cat there for re-homing, that looked exactly like a long haired Siamese and was very chatty.

Sadly I wasn't allowed to take it.... it was beautiful!

Balinese and Burmese are different breeds. The Balinese is a Siamese with semi-long hair. They need to be brushed but not as long as persians do as they have no undercoat.
