Cosy cats on microwaved heated pads

The pads are still as warm as they were 3 hours ago - they are claimed to stay warm "up to" 12 hours. Acid test will be tonight, as OH is away so....will the cats stay on their pads or will they attempt to get closer and closer to me to keep warm?
