I am not a fan of Zoos and their supposed "good intentions" however I visited Twycross Zoo yesterday in an attempt to gain a bit of photographic experience. I thought you guys would like to see the big Cat!

Absolutely beautiful isn't it?
Like you, I'm very agnostic about zoos. Maybe OK for some creatures but that cat really shouldn't live in a cage.......but would there be anywhere in the world it could live safely?
(Could compromise with a Bengal cat??????)
Beautiful picture Dawn!
I like the idea of zoos in principle..as an education and research tool...unfortunately in practice they often fall short. If they are policed and run in the correct manner then they are great places but it is such a huge issue.
Great picture though ...did you take any more
wonderfulpicture dawn, so very clear and of a fabulous subject :)
Breathtaking shot . . . colours and clarity are amazing. The subject matter is wonderful . . . he looks like he's thinking of somewhere far away (but maybe thats just my overactive imagination)

Thanks all.
Fran I used a 70-300mm USM ultrasonic lens for some stuff, i.e the Cats, Bush dogs, birds etc.. but a 28-135mm image stabilizer lens for the animals that were close enough.
Dawn.
Thanks Dawn.....I really must get some more lenses for the camera
