For the past few hours Sox has been passing blood :(

At the moment he is sleeping in the pet carrier, boy am i glad I bought it now. At first we weren't sure which one was peeing blood but I noticed that after Sox had been to the toilet there was blood there

Not yet, will be phoning tomorrow. Just wanna see how he goes tonight. He's eating okay and playing but he will occassionally just go and sleep in the litter tray which is why I put him in the pet carrier.

He doesn't seem to be in any pain when he goes to the toilet but he is drinking a lot more than Moli.

Wonder if he has a bit of a water infection Nae?

What are you feeding him Nae? When Cassie was a kitten she started passing blood in her poo and the vet said it was due to too rich a food....I was giving her Whiskas Kitten food and the vet said to buy the cheap cat food while she was young as it wasn't so rich.......she was fine after I switched. I hope Sox will be ok....

At the moment they are being fed Asad's own kitten food but Sox now appears to be a little constipated since feeding him the 2nd box of food. It's a different flavour to the first food so maybe there's something in there that doesn't agree with him :?

He has stopped peeing blood and seems okay in himself altho he still insists on sleeping in the litter tray.

I hope everything is ok. Let us know how you get on. Moli had a similar problem with one of her cats. It was an infection. You should maybe talk to her

He's a lot better today. I've changed his food and he seems a lot happier. Altho he's not passing blood when he goes toilet he seems to be having difficulty in weeing. He has a drink and then every five minutes he's going to the litter tray. He's not going to toilet everytime, he's squatting and then lying down.

I've got an appointment at the vets on Monday. He seems perfectly okay other than that. His stools are a lot softer then they were. He loves to be cuddled and he's getting plenty of them at the moment.

Update

Sox seems to be back to normal, he's weeing fine and his poo's are softer. I'm still gonna take him to the vet's tomorrow just to be on the safe side :D

Naomi - I would take Sox in for a check up. Sounds like it could be cystitis - my Balie gets it alot . . .

Glad he's better but a check-up is a good idea. They are suprisingly fragile when they're little.

I'm also gonna see about having then done as soon as they are old enough, don;t wanna risk kittens especially as they seem to enjoy being outdoors rather than in

......and it all seems so much easier with cats than dogs. 6 months old - off they go, that's it, naughty bits removed and they just get on with their lives:) . At least I think it's 6 months - so long since I've had a kitten...........

I think I read 6 months for them, def 6 months for the males but I'm not sure if females are younger

Back from the vets with Sox and he is fine. Vet seems to think it was just a bit of upset tummy but everything is fine.

He must be fine cos he's been beating Moli up all morning
