View Full Version : Lump changing colour?
 Cleo has had a lump on her shoulder for about a year its no problem you can touch it press it like a "cyst" but its always been a bluey black colour and the lump is about the size of a large strawberry small plum (noticable) the vet said no trouble a year ago leave it alone - due to her age "biopsy" was not preferable as she was poorly "not recover quickly" when she was put under to have her teeth cleaned at 14/15 about 8 years ago.
But in the last week its changed colour :? and is now milky white you can still touch it ect but I am taking her the vet tomorrow along with Oscar so wish me luck.

Maybe the 'cyst' or whatever content has calcified Kazz? Shouldn't cause any problem - just shows it was inert to begin with.
Just call Dr DM ...................... ....(im)plausible theories for every ill!

Kazz - Does it feel "squiggy?" maybe it needs draining / lancing.
Couldn't the vet do a FNA? just to be on the safe side? - No need for GA
Sorry ~Edit to add - FNA -- biopsy taken with small needle (Fine needle aspirate)
Nah its not squidgy and I'm resigned to the fact she has a lump - we'll see what the vets say.:-D Thanks all Karen
Kazz, just want to wish you all the best at the vet tomorrow....I hope Cleo will be alright....

Good luck at the vets! I hope all is well!
I think the only chance I have of bad news is that the vet keeps her - they keep threatening it - they adore her.:-D

Kazz - She'll be fine, lumps do change in time. The only bad news your having tomorrow is the bill.

Hope all goes well at the vet. Had a lump checked out on my Coco yesterday and she got a clean bill of health. Hope your cat gets the same!
How did you get on at the vet with Cleo Kazz?
Sorry people I did not (honestly) think anyone would be bothered (I am sorry to under estimate you)
Cleo got a clean bill of health with the lump a cyst - albeit a large cyst but due to her previous bad time with anesthetic (sp) we are going to wait and see - as long as she does not catch it and make it bleed the vet said leave it alone.:-D So one happy person here and the vet also said - Cleo was in fantastic condition for a cat half her age.
Oscar too.:-D He had his "fix"
Awww Kazz, of course we are concerned about Cleo...and Oscar, after all they are our champion oldies on Catpages :p
So pleased to hear it was nothing serious with Cleo........and I suppose Oscar has been climbing the curtains after his "fix"?:-D
Awww glad things are ok sorry missed the thread yesturday and yes i do care!!
Ta Mags.
No the "difference" is not as major this time it seems as long as we keep him at a level we should be fine the effects apparently are not good if we let it wear right off then start again.:?
And I am estatic " actually that is an understatement" about Cleo she had me going for a little while there. She is my "little 'en"
Karen
They are 2 very special cats Kazz :cat20
