My OH ws reading the local paper last night and casually mentioned 'mmm, somebody selling Maine Coons'. He's fancied one for ages. I didn't say anything, except maybe mmmm?
He read it again over breakfast this morning, and said - 'oh and Bengals too' :cat19 So, I'm torn.

It would be nice to have a kitten again, it would be nice for Dinah (the pup, for new readers!) to have a cat friend to grow up with.
BUT, the current resident cats would hate it I know.

Maybe I'm getting ahead of myself. First job would be to back OH into a corner and see if his intentions are honourable!!!!!
I'd always anticipated any future cats as moggies rather than pedigree, so I'm just confused (it's easy to do:cat19 )

I'll let you know!

i agree with the other 2
but you have to think about the cats you have now as it wont be fare on the little thing if she comes into a house where the older cats hate her/him

Well DM I am a party pooper - my two moggies are oldies as are yours and I won't bring a kitten it would have to be a kitten with Sal and Tess (they are the dogs) into the house while they are still with me. It would disrupt them too much and to me it would not be worth it but there again your two are only middle aged :-D

I think it would have to be 'now or never' - my old girls aren't getting any younger.
Maybe 2 moggy kittens would be better? Amuse each other and leave the old birds alone?

I've been here before over the last year and decided 'no' - will probably do the same again now..........
But, we'll see :cat21

You'll do the right thing, you know your cats. I agree probably two would be best.

Good luck with what ever you decide DM. If it's any help Lucky my 18 year old gets on really well with Claude, Clooney and Maud - the younger members of our cat household. It's the two slightly older members that make her life hell

Well two kittens sounds more reasonable :D they would hopefully leave your two middle aged ladies alone - and if I'd got kittens when I first considered it when my two were 17/18 then the kittens would be 5 or 6 by now:shock: And maybe settled?

And two kittens - awwww go on then DM you've convinced me "GO GET 'EM"
:-D :-D :-D :-D

Still swithering - I think it will be no as neither of us is in 'Yeah - let's go for it' mode, just 'Aw, wouldn't it be nice' mode.
Will keep you posted :cat21
