Casper has poked Oliver in the eye when playing, Olivers eye is now closed and very sore..I have been bathing it with warm water, Do I ..take him to the vet, or just keep bathing it?

If it was me I think I would watch for 24 hours. If your vet always fits you in on the day you ring leave it till tomorrow morning - if you need to book ahead ring now for a mid-day appointment tomorrow but cancel if it's better.

I suspect it will calm down in time - cats eyes seem to react very quickly, both up and down.

I would see how it goes for a while Moli. I was accidently poked in the eye when my children were small, it was uncomfortable for hours but gradually eased. As DM said, give it a few hours to see if it improves....The only danger is if Casper scratched his eye:?

Thanks guy's, it probably looks worse than it is, my vet is brilliant will give you an appointment for that day.....See how it is tomorrow..........

Claude came in with a sore eye the other day. He couldn't open it and it was watering terribly....but within a couple of hours it looked back to normal again so I would be inclined to wait and see Moli......Poor Ollie, hope it gets better soon x

Not going to take him till tomorrow, want to wait and see what it is like in the morning..........

Took ollie to the vet, his eyeball is swollen and bruised, vet think he has been hit with something.....Not Casper....

Its been one of those weeks PK, Merlin has to stay on his tablets for a month....

He is a lot better thanks PK, he will be on tablets for a while................

Ollie;s eye is looking better, had to cancel his vets appointment, because we had house viewers, so taking him on friday, Merlin has started spotting blood again......

Poor Merlin....I really thought he was getting better Moli, so sorry to hear that....
I hope Oliver's eye continue's to improve.....you are getting everything thrown at you at the moment aren't you:(

Hope Ollie's eye is now better and that the vets will fully get to the bottom of the problem with Merlin............
