RIP Rik Mayall

I know he was not everyone's cup of tea but for me, he was influential to my comedy appreciation, from the inane Kevin Turvey character to Rick in the the Young Ones and Richie in Bottom, he could play a bumbling buffoon well. His cameos as Lord Flashheart in Blackadder were brilliant- woof!
He was the master of the sneer, as used it to great effect.

He also had a lasting marriage, not often the case in entertainment, and 3 children- they have my sympathy.
Good bye Rik, much missed.
