Morgan's a bit poorly

I think he may have an infection

Yesterday evening he seemed listless and a bit uncomfortable, then he wimpered a little as he was peeing but brightened up again before bedtime, no discomfort at his last pee of the night. This morning there was a tiny patch of bile on the floor beside his bed, he's peed without any wimpering but I collected a sample anyway and it looks quite dark though I suppose the first one of the day is normally strong in any case. I'm just waiting for the vet to open at 9.00 and then we'll get him checked out. Fingers crossed it's nothing too much to worry about.

Re: Morgan's a bit poorly

Thanks Shelley and CM, he's going to be fine. We're just back from the vets where they found a urinary infection so he's got 7 days' worth of ABs and we're to take another specimen back to them at the end of the course. He had a good check over while he was there, weight's good, anal glands fine, likewise the prostate but I was surprised when she said his temp was normal, I'd have though it would be elevated with an infection.

Re: Morgan's a bit poorly

That's good news, I'm sure the AB's will kick in and sort it pretty quickly.

I would have thought he'd have had a raised temp too, perhaps as you obviously caught it very early on it has not affected him too badly?

Poor boy! Fortunate that you're observant and spotted it early; hope the ABs knock it out ASAP.
