It's part of a complicated weaving machine, the treddle being used by the feet and the heddle by the forehead!

Ah, now this is to do with fabric making and weaving. Something I remember from Social History A Level . . . (industrialisation)!

I think it is somethng to do with weaving.

- Took a course a number of years ago and produced a mini wallhanging.
