Re: QUIZ - Wednesday 7th October

One of my copywriting clients produces spelt pizzas and savoury biscuits (Farretti) based in Petworth/Midhurst, not a million miles from you. Lovely Italian lady without a bean who is passionate about food and REALLY knowledgable about her ingredients. I've learnt a lot from her . . . and have many free biscuit samples in lieu of payment - hey ho!!

Re: QUIZ - Wednesday 7th October

I think that CM's visitor must have arrived and as RCR is off too ...................

Elaine's answer is correct. He was the first person to circumnavigate Australia. He is also the first person to have used the name "Australia" which was finally adopted as that country's name. Previously it had been called Terra Australis.

Q4. Bit obscure perhaps, but what was the name of Matthew Flinder’s faithful and well loved cat?

Re: QUIZ - Wednesday 7th October

Ah - this I know. It's Trymm (not sure of the spelling).

Did I mention our branch of Cats Protection has a 'token box' in my branch of Waitrose? I'm forcing the boys to put their shopping tokens into the CP section WITHOUT FAIL

Definitely pass on this one!

And I suspect we have more fun than Yola's OH!

Re: QUIZ - Wednesday 7th October

I had to have the token/charity box thing explained to me last time I went into Waitrose! I don't go in to shop for groceries and so missed out on the introduction of this scheme. Are the amounts published anywhere do you know?

Re: QUIZ - Wednesday 7th October

Trim is the correct answer - I have given Elaine 3 points and Yola 2 for that Q. We definitely seem to have lost CM and RCR.

Q5. What is the common name for a medicinal herb that is also known as “knit-bone”?
