PP's cruise and Florence.

We travelled on the Royal Caribbean Liberty of the Seas to the Western Med. and our only shore excursion was to Florence. Here's a pic of the statue of David by Michaelangelo, it's outside the Vecchia museum and is a copy of the original inside.

Here's the Pontevecchio, the bridge over the Arno that is occupied by mostly goldsmiths shops.

We arrived at the port of Naples at sunrise and here is a view of Mount Vesuvius.

Here is me and Ceri all dressed up in our best for the Captain's dinner.

Re: PP's cruise and Florence.

Thanks ladies We had a smashing time, went far too quickly. It's the first time we have ever dressed up for the formal nights with long gown and Ceri in his (funeral) suit ! Made me smile to think this was the first time in over 28 years I'd seen him in a dickie bow I quite like it! The weather was glorious, just right for me but hard walking on the feet, cobbles and uneven pavements, Ceri suffered much with his knees for a few days after. The cruise was first class though, so much entertainment and lovely food
