Lady has a mast cell tumour!

Lady had a lump close to her vulva, we got the FNA results back and she has a mast cell tumour. Lady is a high anaesthetic risk and because of where it is poses more risks, so rather than operate we are trying a tablet called palladia to try and control growth, it's expensive and has the risk of side effects. I'll let you know how we get on!

Re: Lady has a mast cell tumour!

Sorry, Lady is a smooth coat collie we took in 4 years ago. She spent the first year of her life in a shed and the next 5 living with an agorophobic, alcoholic- so wasn't house trained, didn't understand being outside and to this day doesn't 'get' toys. We've had her since she was 6 and she is nearly house trained, loves being outside and is a daddy's girl. At the beginning of the year she was diagnosed with bronchitis and had a very bad anaesthetic reaction when having a dental and chest x-rays!

Poor Lady .... what a rough time she must have had before she came to you and it sounds as if her health hasn't been as good as could be hoped, even before this latest diagnosis. Hope the meds work for her.
